Ernie and Alice Sims have served faithfully at the Fellowship Indep Baptist Church of Quincy Florida since its inception (20 years) and have served in a number of ministries.  In April of 2005, the Sims were honored as the founders of the Fellowship Indep Baptist Church and in 2006 the Sims work at Fellowship was complete.  As missionaries, the Sims family joined hands with Pastor Sterling Young and the Capital City Baptist of Tallahassee, Florida.  As a new testament church plant out of Crossroad Baptist Church of Crossroads Virgina, Dr. Lou Baldwin Pastor.  The Sims family and The W.A.Y. Ministries have committed their talents and resources to the Capital City Baptist Church.  As of October of 2006, The W.A.Y. Ministries of Talla will be a missionaries out of the Capital City Baptist in Tallahassee.  Brother Sims will serve as the assistant/youth Pastor and Sister Sims will be church Secretary.

Ernie and Alice have two children, Ernie, III and Marcus.  They also adopted Mike Gibson and Latonya Bennett.  In addition to being faithful servants of the Lord. Ernie and Alice are former athletes and graduates of Florida State University.  Ernie played football for Coach Bobby Bowden and it was during his playing days he heard the gospel and trusted Christ while in Tampa, Florida.  Alice trusted Christ at age sixteen and earned a scholarship at FSU and became a seven time All-American in track and field at FSU.  She also was a member of several National Championship relay teams.  Both Ernie and Alice graduated with BS degrees in the College of Education.

Brother Sims served as the Associate Pastor many years before becoming a full-time Missionary to America's Youth.  Brother Sims has served in the following ministry capacities in his local Church:  Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Director of Children's Church, Youth Minister, Teen Impact Ministry and Couples Ministry.   Sister Sims has served in the following ministry capacities:  Special Services and Calendar Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Young Ladies Ministry, Teen Impact Ministry, Youth Choir Director, Adult Choir Ministry, and Couples Ministry.

In 1995, God called Brother Ernie Sims into the Youth Ministry.  He was ordained on May 24, 1995 at the Fellowship Independent Baptist Church.  The Ordaining Council was Pastor William Green, Evangelist Andrew Hamilton, Deacon James Williams and Brother Sandy Davenport.  God burdened Brother Sims heart to start The W.A.Y. Ministries of Tallahassee, Inc.  Brother Mike Lindsey served as Brother Sims assistant along with Sister Sims and Sister Dana Lindsey.  Brother Sims has served faithfully in the Juvenile Detention Center ministry since 1995 and has witnessed hundreds of young people trust in Christ.

Through this ministry the Capital City Christian Cruisers Track Club was born.  Since its inception, over 1500 youths/athletes have been served.  Many young people and their parents have trusted Christ.

In 2002, Brother Ernie Sims went full time in the ministry has served faithfully as a inner-city Missionary to Americas Youth.  God opened the door for Sister Sims to join Brother Sims in full-time ministry in June 2006.

In 2007, God used Pastor Sterling Young and Brother Ernie Sims to start a new testament church in Tallahassee called the Capital City Baptist Church.  The sending Church is Crossroads Baptist Church out of Bailey's Crossroad, Virginia which is under the direction of Pasto Lou Baldwin.
